  • Hope has no context without unfavorable circumstances/situations
    • Disappointment comes from what you expect to find
    • The ideal -> the real deal -> the ordeal
    • The more realistic your expectations,  the less disappointment that can occur
    • The favor of God does not exempt us from the frustrations of life
    • Scripture has never told us that a Christ life would be easy, or being saved means you live happily ever after
    • Use your prayer power
      • There is always a way out
    • 1 Peter 4:12 – NIV 
      • Don’t think a trial is a strange thing that happens to you
    • 1 Peter 1:7

Scripture Has Many Examples Of People Who Had To go through some things

    • God does not accept resignations
      • When you hit rock bottom you will discover he who is the rock
    • When you pursue your greatest passion,  you will also discover your greatest pains
      • You cannot live a productive life without traveling through failure
    • You cannot truly love and not be introduced to sorrow
    • Whenever you pursue a dream you will experience a nightmare
      • The human spirit is fragile yer resilient
      • Fragile- easily broken, shattered, or damaged; delicate; brittle; frail:
      • Resilient- springing back; rebounding.
        • returning to the original form or position after being bent, compressed,or stretched.
    • Whatever you let sit, it will go bad
      • Fruit
      • Meat
      • Cars
    • Recoveryis based on discovery
      • Discover truth and the truth shall set you free

How do you handle things that knock you down

Have you ever wondered why life has so many challenges

  • All creativity emerges from struggle
  • Necessity is the mother of invention
  • The path of least resistance leads to mediocrity

  • We are born to be tender and tough
  • Our lives are miserable if we have no hope
    • We are never beaten down if we have hope
  • Hope- the desire of something good with the expectation of receiving it
    • Hope is a faith filled expectation

What biblical hope does for us

  1. It changes the way we love
  2. It changes our perspective of what wet are going through today
  3. It allows us to live today with the end in mind
  4. It changes what we THINK

Our blessed hope in God gives us

  1. Courage
  2. Comfort
  3. Confidence
  4. Strength
  5. Boldness
